I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop can I upgrade the video card?

How do I know what to upgrade it with?

Mainly I just want to be able to play FSX, all my other hardware is better than the minimum system requirements, except the video card. Can it be upgraded?|||It's not so much the video card you need to worry about, it's your operating system. I spent £1500 on a machine that is solely for use for FSX, nothing else at all and I still struggle to get good frame rates and have no out of memory issues. I am having to upgrade to windows 7 64 bit (32 bit is no good) and having to instal 8GB of memory, so I doubt your laptop will handle FSX to be honest.|||Nope. It's built in, not upgradeable.

How do i check the video card of this laptop?

Win 7 32bit

pentium dual-core CPU T4300 @ 2.10GHz, 4,0GB RAM, Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family

I want to know the video card of my laptop, but donno how. I`m trying to play DeathSpank|||On win xp, you can can go to start then run and type in dxdiag and click video on the window that pops up and it will tell you.|||Open START, then in search bar type: Device Manager. A window opens up, in it select Display adapters. Now you see just the name of the video card and its driver status.

To obtain full specs of your computer graphics card, go to START and in the search bar type "dxdiag", and click the dxdiag above. This launches the DirectX Diagnostic Tool which displays all PC built-in component specs. Inside this choose the Display tab (on top of the window). Now you can see your video card specs.

Hope this helps.

What is safest maximum temperature for my laptop and video card?

I have a G35S laptop with a Nvidia Geforce GTX460M video card.

This one : http://www.amazon.com/G53SW-XA2-Republic…

Thanks!|||80 is a pretty safe temp for both your GPU and CPU. The graphics card is going to run hot under load but it should be just fine as it is. I would not overclock my card if I were you though because you might reach unsafe temperatures. Even going into the 80s a bit would be okay. It's just best to stay around 80 because your graphics card will last longer than if it were reaching temperatures of 90+. So in short, you're safe!|||Graphics card max temperature is 100 degrees and processor is 70-75 so i think you are fine.

Which video cards will fit in my Dell Latitude D600?

I have a D600 with a Radeon 9000 video card and would like to upgrade. But laptop cards seem to come in several different configurations (i.e. physical dimensions) and I do not wish to disassemble my latitude to find out just yet. Can someone tell me which ones work with my laptop, and especially are the cards which will work in an Inspiron cross compatible?|||Laptop graphics upgrades are not normally possible as they are built in graphics, normally time to bite the bullet if needed. D610 is not that much of an upgrade but you may get a bargain as they are end of life, but the new D620 is a cracking machine.

External Usb Video Card for Laptops, Please Help?

So i want to increase the performance on my laptop for some gaming needs and some people suggested an external usb video card..

ive been lookin online a lil and am really confused.

can someone give me some examples or links to some good ones?

please & thanks|||Um...no. External USB video adapters are for nothing more than adding a quick and dirty extra display, nothing more. It will do nothing whatsoever to improve your performance.

Are the nvidia or ati video cards included with laptops removable and upgradeable or are they integrated?

When referring to a laptop, video cards are usually physically integrated on the mainboard even when they do not share memory & have their own dedicated RAM.

There are exceptions but very rare.

So ... to answer your question :

Almost always never removable or upgradeable.

regards,

Philip T|||Most are built into the mainboards!|||Most are removable but you may want to take the laptop with you to an electronic store if you are unsure|||nope they integrated u can increase the ram their using though but then that'll decreese the ram your computer uses but you'l ur video card will be better|||Some are technically upgradeable, but it is a very involved procedure and it will void your warranty.

Laptops and video cards?

if i got like a cheap laptop would i be able to upgrade it with a better video card like a nvidia if so what kind of laptop and video card|||No, No No, laptops have there graphic cards build into the motherboard. only way you could upgrade a graphic card on a motherboard is by upgrading the entire laptop. in other words, buying a new laptop with the graphic card you need...|||The Answer is No. The only laptops with upgradeable graphics cards are very expensive and even they aren't upgradeable very often anymore.|||In a nut shell, NO.

Notebooks generally do not have a "graphics card". They use a graphics chip hardwired to the motherboard.
