Are there video cardsfor laptops and desktops, or universal?

I'm looking to update the video card on my laptop and im wondering if there are specific cards that can only go into desktops or only in laptops, and if so how can i tell the difference?|||Video card comes in two main types nowadays, AGP and PCI Express. Depending on motherboards, they may support either type.

Most laptops (especially portable ones) have on-board video card, meaning embedded together with the main board. High end gaming laptop (those 15" and above usually) will have independent graphic card which you may swap (the 2 types above apply as well) but it will not be that easy to remove a video card from a laptop as compared to a PC.|||Laptops dont have removable video cards to begin with. The video is incorporated on the mainboard|||ya there is different video card for the different model depend on the mother board type|||Laptops and Desktops do have different video cards. The only difference is you will be able to update the video card in your desktop while you will not be able to for your laptop as it is integrated right into the motherboard and cannot be removed.
