Can you buy video cards and install them on laptops?

If so, how do i know if a video card will fit in a laptop or not? What kind of slots do most laptops use? Thanks in advance for the help.|||unfortunatly not to my knowledge, laptops are simply not intended for such high end intense 3d processing, unless bought and customised to commit to such tasks. 'Alienware' and such brands, and popular manufacturers also consruct laptops which are specced for 3d production and design however...|||Nope, you see, the graphics in a Laptop are basically part of the mother board, and are often soldered on the the mobo.

This is done for a number of reasons, 1 being to keep people buying new laptops and not just upgrading.

another reason for this is that laptops are designed for specific hardware. So if they made it possible to let you change the graphics, and you buy a monster gfx card that producers enough heat to melt steal, thne you can blame the laptop manufacturer for not making the laptop able to handle the heat. Thus, this will force the price of the lappy up...

|||depends on the model.

only a few allow this|||NO|||Yes they make video cards for laptops

Would I recommend it...no.

It is very, very hard to install. It's a lot easier to buy them to be made for that such as Alienware, but I would recommend using a desktop for gaming or what ever you plan on using you video card for.|||No
