Can you upgrade the video cards in a laptop. and how would i do it and how can i tell what card is compatible?

what would be a minimal required graphics card for running games such as WoW on my laptop|||Sorry NO you're stuck with it.|||not easily|||I think if you have MXM cards you can. If it's integrated then you can't.

http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/|||Unlikely. Usually the graphics is integrated on the mainboard.|||Since you did not bother to list the brand or model of the laptop, just how do you expect to get an answer?

Nearly ALL laptops can not be upgraded for either processor or video. These are soldered onto the motherboard, so you would have to replace the entire motherboard, $$$$, to upgrade.

In most all cases you would be better off to buy a new laptop with the correct speed and video, and then transfer your files from the old one and sell it to offset your costs.|||if you buy one of the topend custom gaming laptops you can upgrade the video. but you can get a state of the art desktop gaming machine for half what the top end custom laptop will cost. if your thinking lan party gaming just get your gaming desktop in one of the micro versions shuttle comes to mind.|||Laptops are not really designed for games. You probably have an onboard graphics chipset.
