My laptops video card is not working?

my laptops video card is not working|||First plug your laptop video vga out let into a desktop computer screen and see if it yours on with video on the desktop screen , remember you might have to wait for it to boot into windows and then look at the keyboard indications to disable the on board screen and enable the external screen(the one you just plugged in) , if it works its the laptops lcd screen that's at fault , if it dosent work its the laptops chipset inside that's probably faulty (can't repair ) but your data on your hard drive should be fine , I recommend you goto your nearest young person or it shop :)
