What is the meaning of video card in the laptop?

If laptop has 128 shared memory then how can I increase if I have total 512 MB.Is video card related to games?|||Your video card is what sends the picture to the screen of your laptop. It is used by games (an all other programs). The more memory the video card has, the faster it can update the picture of the screen, which lets games play better.

If the card has 128 of shared memory, it means that it is taking 128 of the 512 in you computer, leaving you only 384mb to run programs. That is low for Windows XP.

You should be able to add additional memory to the laptop, changing it from 512mb to at least 1 GB (1024mb). Then once the video card takes its 128, you will still have a decent amount of memory left for running programs.

Check the manufacturer of the laptop's web site for information on what type of memory the laptop needs.
